Death Is Nothing At All

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.

Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.

All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again

I was originally going to write regarding the closure being somewhat unexpected, though the more I consider it the more I realise that it is, in fact, was, expected sooner or later. The army has been on a decline. Whether it’s the upcoming September drop, the incident or our growing egos after taking home the Challengers Cup II, it was certainly coming.

I do believe that I speak for the entire army when I say wow. What a ride! In just seven or eight months we did so much together. Whether it was our first tournament against Silver Empire, nearly beating them in their prime or when it was the first themed week, our Marvel one. Or even more recent, when we took home the Challengers Cup II, beating the Golden Troops, Smart Penguins and People’s Imperial Confederation: all prominent S/M armies who are legendary in their own right. We did so much together. And much like our usual battle tactic, “we win together, we fall together,” it is finally time, after winning together, that we fall together.

It isn’t often that I write in this style. I have never led an army this long, to their end. I normally find myself retired by the time death rolls around but it was different this time. As you may know, I really, really tried to find somebody else to undertake this task. I did not want to continue leading this army after the incident. Though I’m glad I did. I love this army more than any other out there, including the legendary SWAT that I led to insane heights during Club Penguin Online. This was just the most fun for me.

At the start of the post, I attached a poem. It is often read at British funerals, and I guess you could say that this sort of is one. This is the funeral of Fire Warriors. Yet it’s nothing at all. The Fire Warriors have died many times in the past yet just last week we won a tournament. Due to that, I believe I should allow the door to remain at least somewhat open regarding any future returns. But, please, for the sake of common courtesy I ask you to talk to me before you go about making anything named Fire Warriors.

As for what is next? I have no idea. I’m usually the one with many ideas, trying to implement them all at once. This time, I have nothing. I believe the best course of action is to leave the server opened to all individuals who would like to speak there. As I am leaving the door open, I do not wish to convert to a gaming server like the Underground Mafias or the Doritos have done before, but I am sure we can find the time to get together and have game nights as the family we are.

Before I move on to outline some suggestions, I’d like to take a brief moment to thank you all. Anyone who ever attended an event, anybody who has ever helped us one way or another. A huge shout out to our brother allies, the People’s Imperial Confederation for their work in recent months and thank you to the Ice Warriors, Rebel Penguin Federation and the Water Vikings too.

I understand that simply because Fire Warriors is done with Armies, that you may not be. You, naturally, are free to undertake positions in other armies but I do strongly suggest you join the People’s Imperial Confederation, or any of our other allies. You can Direct Message me for any invitations you require.

Thank you for making my dreams in Club Penguin Armies come true.

~Sweater, Fire Warriors Legend.
